The JourneyExamine how students travel to/from school and design an informed actionable strategy that considers alternatives that are rooted in Safety, Health & Wellness, the Environment, and Community.
As a dedicated educator you are being provided here with a series of activities linked to the core curriculum that can be completed in an hour a day over five days, or lengthened considerably using your expertise.
It is also possible to do just one or all five activities, though following the sequencing is important.
This material may be new to you. This is an opportunity for you to practice your own active learning principles.
Finally, you are in on the startup phase of this project. Feel free to change, modify, scrap any or all aspects. And please let us know what works and doesn't in your classroom, the real world.
"The real success of the project at this stage will not necessarily be in actually changing behavior, but in planting the seeds that there should be a sustainability component to personal decision making and critical thinking about how your actions affect the community."

Note: internet access is desirable for some of the student activities, but where the logistics are prohibitive the lessons can certainly be completed without this resource.
